The pieces, on permanent display at the Casa de Mateus, constitute a reference heritage and artistic set, which reveals the history of the Family and the House itself.
The visit to the House reveals, on the main floor, the museum's permanent exhibition, initially installed by D. Francisco de Sousa Botelho de Albuquerque.
In the manner of the arms rooms typical of the noble houses of the 17th and 18th centuries, the chestnut wood ceiling bears the arms of the builder of the House, António José Botelho Mourão - Botelho, Mourão, Vasconcelos and Aguiar -, the same find in the top place in the center of the facade of the House. Francisco de Albuquerque, based on an original curtain with the arms of the Sousas, had the other three made, whose coats of arms represent the Botelho, Melo and Albuquerque branches, as well as the benches that flank the room, designed by Paulo Bensliman.
The stone of arms was ordered to be chopped by D. Manuel I, because Fernão de Magalhães had made his great journey of discovery in the service of the kings of Spain. In it were represented, heraldically, the Magellan.
The data on the birthplace and parentage of this great Portuguese are still very confusing. Although everything leads to believe that he was born in Casa da Pereira, in Sabrosa, in the last quarter of the 16th century, and that it was his parents, Rui de Magalhães, married to D. Alda da Mosque Pimentel in Vila Real.
The Cada da Pereira and its bond belonged to João da Silva Teles, who was married to D. Teresa de Magalhães, sister of Fernão de Magalhães, having been in the name of those who were the great circumnavigator, on December 17, 1504 , established a link between the morgado and chapel, of the innovation of the Lord Jesus of the Church of Sabrosa with the small Quinta da Sonta, naming her sister and her husband, her first administrators and her universal heirs. Hence the almost certainty that Fernão de Magalhães was from Sabrosa.
Vila Nova de Foz Côa (post-WA 1990: Vila Nova de Foz Coa), sometimes referred to as Foz Côa, is a Portuguese city, belonging to the district of Guarda, North Region and Douro sub-region, with about 3,100 population.
It is the seat of the municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa with an area of 398.15 km²[1] and 7 312 inhabitants (2011),[2][3] subdivided into 17 parishes.[4] The municipality is limited to the north by the municipalities of Carrazeda de Ansiães and Torre de Moncorvo, to the northeast by Freixo de Espada à Cinta, to the southeast by Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo and Pinhel, to the south by Mêda and to the west by Penedono and São João da Pesqueira .

Guiães was ordered to settle by D. Sancho I, who granted it a charter on April 8, 1202. This parish was influenced by several families who owned their houses and properties there.
Thus, Guiães has an interesting set of these houses that enhance the architectural heritage of the locality and transmit pieces of the people's memory. There, we can see the Casa dos Silveiras, a sunny building which, due to its design and size, clearly shows its splendor.
The schist walls (characteristic elements of this area) draw the building's boundaries and define its image.
The building is located to the south of an old fairground and has two entrances, one for public (east) and one for service (west), defined by the mismatch of walls. A direct entrance to the cafeteria (West) is also possible through a large window, allowing for autonomous exploration.
Taking advantage of the slope of the land, the walls were extended to the north/east, configuring the fairground. 18 trees modulate this space, which serves as the fairground and, most days, works as a parking lot to support the Cultural Centre. The building has two floors (a ground floor and a floor below the threshold level), an area of approximately 1315m2, an outdoor area for parking/fair of approximately 3115m2 and a variable height of the walls that configure it, between 1 metro (parking/fair) and 5.5 meters (building).
Pinhão is considered the geographical center of the Douro Demarcated Region and it is here that many of the farms producing Port wine are located, some offering accommodation in the form of rural tourism.
Noteworthy is the railway station building, built at the end of the 19th century. XIX, whose interior is entirely covered with tile panels.
